Born around the traditional style of the south, LeJavian always felt as though she didn't fit into that lifestyle and while completing her BFA in Interior Design, she was able to explore what type of style she connected with more. By her senior year, all her work had reflected a designer that correlated more with a fun, creative, and expressive styles of pop art and mid-century modern design. As a proud 90's baby, she was able to grow up during some of the most influential times in art, fashion, movies, and music-which is where most ,if not all, of her inspiration for her designs usually stem from. Everyday she find herself coming up with ideas that simply has her sitting there with a smile on her face because she knows it would bring the same energy to anyone who walked into the space.
Describe your go-to style:
My go-to style would be an eclectic flair with elements of pop art & mid-century modern set to the background of industrial design.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
When trying to find inspiration for a project, I usually turn towards pop culture: movies, tv shows, art, and fashion to create anything from an overall theme to a color scheme.
Describe your favorite project:
A favorite project for me would be designing a loft with a living room having the subtle theme of the fashion from the 90's cult classic, Clueless movie. Taking elements from the film, the decor from the pillows to the pictures on the custom picture ledge wall I placed behind the pink velvet sofa showcased the most popular outfits in a modern way. I modernized the room by keeping the walls and floors a neutral hue and adding neon signage and kitschy products to make it more fun and inviting.
