Ibiwunmi A. earned her Diploma in Interior Design from KLC school of design, London. She has over 9 years experience working in residential interior design. She believes that incorporating technology into the design of interior and exterior spaces is going to become mainstream; and is becoming a key element to create energy efficient and "smart" spaces. These new spaces will not only enhance the lifestyle of the user, but also improve the way that inclusive design is helping the interaction of adults and children with disabilities and their better functioning in the interior and urban landscape.
Describe your go-to style:
I have always been drawn to minimal styles: simple, clean lines that allow design details and elements to be the main focus of the romms. I love to play with textures and colors that have the potential to add character and elegance when combined in the right way. I also love the feel and sense that creative lighting choices bring in to a space. Light can make a huge difference in a space.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
Because of the client-centric nature of interior design, I always look for inspiration into the client's brief. The process of creating design concepts, however, can be inspired by many things: the smell of the air just before rain, the sky as it explodes into all the gorgeous shades of red and orange, people watching, Pinterest and, because I am an incurable nerd, fantasy movies!
We know you love designing, but what about it do you love most?
The part I love the most about designing is seeing everything come together!
