Project Description:

I have small spaces that I need to get the best function out of. I need advice on color palates, window treatments, furniture style and placement. Also am would like decor advice but find things that fit my style/personality. I also plan to do updates on the baseboards, etc. but am not sure where to start. I would like step by step on how to accomplish the needs of the room. I need functional pieces as I have multiple pets that are very hard on the home. I do not plan on being in this home long term so I am not looking to spend an exponential amount of money. I also would like advice on how I should have the new wall color flow to the next rooms (should I just paint the entire first level the same color since no real breaks in the room, thats how it is now)

What do you currently dislike about the room?:

Wall color, the baseboards and the flow of the baseboards into the entry way (pictures), the fit of the furniture, lack of light. I never took time to decorate so there is really no style or decor to the room. While I do like a minimal look (most pics I sent really are too busy for my style), I would like to see some decor in the space.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:

I would be willing to replace it all, but the piece under the TV is relatively new and if it could be used that would be great but I'm not completely opposed to getting rid of it. Also, the color in the windows of the piece is fabric so it can be changed as well.
