Transitional Master Suite Decorating Ideas

Redoing our downstairs: Master bedroom suite, master bath, entry, powder room, living room, dining room, family room and converting playroom to an exercise room. Also doing the patio/bbq area. Currently old world design and would like to shift to contemporary/transitional. Not sure if we're strict contemporary or transitional or what, kind of a mash up. Starting with our master bedroom suite, including new closets, and working our way out to the rest of the downstairs. Don't want to change bathroom cabinetry but walls, windows, paint, hardware, needs to change. We tend to like earthy colors but our palette needs an update. We do use ceiling fan in bedroom but need a more modern one. Sitting room and bathroom need new chandeliers. Would like pops of color somewhere, maybe in art on walls and accessories. Not redoing fireplace so need to work around that. Need the cuddler chair from Z Gallerie somewhere in the scheme, I love that chair. Thinking of doing sitting room with dark brown/chocolate walls with white and pink and gold furniture and accents. Can't decide between dark wood floors and area rug under bed vs. wall to wall carpet. Don't know if we want mirrors on wall behind headboard with lamps or wall sconces. We need to get rid of the long drapes and think of a different, cleaner window treatment. Like a padded or tufted tall headboard that's tall but not winged with simpler footboard. Bed needs to accommodate our Tempurpedic mattress that can raise the head and foot. Like bedside chest rather than night table. Not looking to spend more than $50K for master bedroom suite but for whole project. Exercise area will become Kevin's sitting area and what is currently called playroom on first floor plan will become exercise room. He needs to have a recliner in his sitting area. The ceilings are important to me, I see them as the fifth wall. We have some nice coffers to enhance. We have two cats and a dog, which is one reason we’re getting rid of curtains. I’m not opposed to wallpaper, like on the bed wall or in the bathroom.
