I am remodeling my main bathroom before putting my house up for sale. I am looking to upgrade the living room also. What's your favorite decor style?

Since I am planning on putting the house on the market within the year, I don't want to buy a new sofa, but would be willing to look at occasional chair and side tables, ect. There are 2 paintings in black frames that flank the built in entertainment center that my kids painted that I like to have but they can be moved if needed.
