The client provided images of a neutral color palette with contemporary bedroom décor and luxe finishes. Their primary bedroom decorating ideas were certainly of a high-end contemporary design style. Furthermore, a modern sitting area in some of the rooms gave these spaces a warm and welcoming feeling. Finishing touches also add quality and beauty to these master suites.
Moodboard & the Primary Bedroom Design
It was time to start the effortless online bedroom design process. First, the client completed an online quiz in next to no time at all. Thereafter, the client had a virtual consultation with a Decorilla leading expert. With all the information gathered on the client’s taste and budget, the team could then select a few designers who suited the project best.
Although all the designers handed over stunning primary bedroom design ideas, the client loved Maya M’s proposal best. Her contemporary style informed the overall concept brilliantly. As a result, every aspect of the bedroom concept is modern and luxurious. Grays, blues, and warm blonde wooden accents set the tone, while luxe finishes would add sophistication.

Overall, the contemporary primary bedroom design is luxurious and inviting. The color scheme ensures a calm, sophisticated feel, while the furnishing and décor set an elegant tone. In the end, the makeover sees the addition of a trendy fireplace that will add warmth to the interior. In addition, the seating nook makes the space inviting, particularly as it sits alongside three large windows.
Entertainment Center with a Fireplace & Contemporary Bedroom Decor
Opposite the bed, a fireplace brings a warm glow. This section has built-in shelving surrounding the fireplace to add dimension and depth to the room. Moreover, the shelving makes space for the media set and all of the client’s décor items. Sticking to the color scheme, these items blend in seamlessly.
The lighting design in this project is both classy and sophisticated. It intertwines with a modern ceiling design where recessed lights highlight a tray ceiling. Rope lighting also lines the interior of the ceiling. Lastly, a chandelier and two hanging pendants provide interest and more soft light to the room. These also stand out against the tactile black feature wall.
Primary Bedroom Decorating Ideas
Decorating is simplistic yet classy in this contemporary bedroom design. Two blonde wood side tables flank the king-size bed, providing pleasing symmetry. In addition, a matching chest of drawers and a mirror sit to the side of the room. Besides this, two comfy chairs grace the opposite end of the room, with a small white table between them. The gray bench at the foot of the bed further frames the bed while echoing the upholstery of the accent seats.
The two curved chairs with a luxurious texture make for a welcoming atmosphere. Here, windows are framed with an accent of dark gray, creating the perfect focal point for this section of the room. Moreover, the two abstract artworks on either side center the seating area within.
Contemporary décor is minimal in this space, however, the ones present make a lasting impact. These include books, vases, and a subtle pop of color with an indoor plant. Moreover, the built-in shelving holds the client’s décor. All of the items echo a similar color tone while bringing intrigue through their differing shapes.

At first, the primary bedroom was bare and in need of a vision and concept. Fortunately, this space would soon become a masterpiece with a contemporary bedroom style.
Setting a Neutral Color Scheme
For a successful transformation, the designer picked a color palette that is both contrasting and cohesive. The accent gray wallpaper in the nook, black feature wall, and window frames make a stark contrast to the light creams and whites. The designer has certainly added visual interest and intrigue through this color scheme. In addition, she’s created a beautiful space by layering textures in these tones.
