Project Description:

We are currently in process of building a home in Manvel, TX that should hopefully be completed by August but have the dimensions of the space & pictures of the model home. We were looking to have our master bedroom completed initially and based on how that goes proceed with decorating the living room, dining room & keeping/sitting room and potentially the office/study. We look forward to working together!

In general alot of our home will be black and white, so we would love help incorporating some fun pops of color (not too extreme) into the home particularly in the bedrooms and with accent furniture. Our kitchen looks very similar to the model except for no black on the upper cabinetry & TBD light fixtures. We have the large black brick accent wall behind the fireplace as well but none of the furniture or art work you see.

In step 11 I’ve included pictures of items we have currently that can be incorporated into decor for the master bedroom
or other parts of the house if it makes sense to.

Photos are of 2 different Model homes specifically the Master Bedroom. I provided a picture of the flooring we picked which is a luxury laminate (Splendid Design - Caramel Oak). The house has all over paint color that is white/off white with a trim of extra white. All of the interior door are painted Iron Ore (black) & the windows have black frames.

We like the style of the model homes (contemporary), but want to make sure the furniture is comfortable. We love the accent wall behind the bed or the painted ceiling. Essentially desiring a 2 tone room - perhaps a light grey and white. We would love a room that is light, airy and with a style that is generally longstanding. We would love some fun contemporary accents (art work, desk, accent wall etc).

We are interested in seeing an option that includes a small desk/work station. We do not need additional storage outside of the dresser & nightstands as we have a walk in closet. If there is a bench that is at the foot of the bed it would be nice if it had storage. For art we like abstract or painting but also have a few photos of us from our wedding & e-session (on 20x30 metal panels) that we are unsure of where to include in the house (if at all). We are pretty flexible related to art work - whatever looks good and not random!

Since your room is large your color options with this room are quite broad

For your main color, we chose to use gray because it is neutral and seen as elegant and classy. It compliments many colors such as white, blue, and yellow and works well as part of a color scheme in any room.

Use a matte finish paint because it will be helpful in camouflaging those surface imperfections such as bumps and cracks as it does not reflect light. Just be careful because matte finish is more difficult to clean. You may also need to touch up scratches or marks by adding more of the same paint in the future.
