I'm redecorating our family room. We Have purchased a tv for over the fireplace and in doing so, need to change the entire layout of the room. Have never had a tv exposed in the family room before. It has always been in hidden in a cabinet. We are a family of six and need lots of room to sit/lay. The room has two entrances, one of which is high traffic from kitchen area into family room. Would like a comfortable, but lovely area to hang and entertain. Modern but glamorous.

Using lighter colors in your medium-sized room will make it feel more airy and bright
For your main color, we chose to use gray because it is neutral and seen as elegant and classy. It compliments many colors such as white, blue, and yellow and works well as part of a color scheme in any room.
Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
