Transitional Living Room Decorating Ideas

I need designs for the my family room. We have a new TV that we would like to mount over the fireplace. However, the mantle was too high so we have torn down the mantle and tiles around the fireplace and have lined up a contractor who will make a new mantle, tile the fireplace and hang the TV. I am taking this opportunity to redo the whole room. I am looking forward to a completely new room and willing to buy - sectional/couch/chairs, table s(console, coffee, side), rug, lights, wall decor, window treatment and also do media built-ins on either side of the fireplace. I do not have pets. my household consists of me, my husband and our two boys - ages 7 and 10. I am looking for a beautiful, functional, cozy family room that is great for - family time, TV watching, and entertaining. Some of the things my husband I would love to have:
- nice cozy sectional
- plenty of seating
- tables to keep drinks, books etc
- have some color/fun elements
- minimalist window treatment (allow as much light as possible)
- resilient fabrics
- choose tile for fireplace and mantle design
- design media cabinets around the fireplace.
