Traditional Eclectic Home Inspiration

We are doing a gut renovation. We like traditional mixed with eclectic/colorful but will likely lean more towards traditional for the kitchen, and a bit more fun for the bathrooms. I love some wood accents and French countryside elements also.

There are houses with similar floor plan in the area. I’ve uploaded some pictures in question 11 that I’ve seen below for ideas of floor plan for the kitchen. I may not like the styles of these examples so these are just for reference of a similar floor plan only. Pinterest board has more inspiration for style.

As a short description of the kitchen, it is long and narrow and includes a breakfast table. Because it’s long and narrow we are deciding whether we have room for a tall narrow island similar to one of the pictures uploaded below from Zillow in question 11. We have a floor plan design that has a U shape kitchen but people keep disagreeing about this. Would like to see it in a design before making a decision. By the breakfast table, we would like a small wet bar area with cabinets and storage similar to a pic in question 11. We have removed the wall between the kitchen and a sun room and would like the countertop to extend into the sunroom with bar seating in the sunroom. Architect and contractor have said the space going from kitchen to sun room don’t need supports, they are installing a header so view will be “open”. See pics in 13 below. Going from kitchen to dining room, I found an example of a kitchen that has cabinets facing the walkway, away from the refrigerator that I really like and uploaded to 11. I have a connection with LifeArt Cabinetry so will only like cabinets from there.

Master bath will be built into a previous bedroom. Need to also make room for two closets. Definitely want double vanity. Don’t need a tub due to space constrictions but would like a nice shower.

Floor 1 bath just needs 1 sink. I have an oval farmhouse sink that I would love to use if possible. Floor 1 bathroom is the main guest bath so I would like this to be “prettier”.

Floor 2 bath will need a double vanity and a tub or tub shower. This is for the kids.


I’ve been cleaning up my Kitchen board. Will do the same with bathrooms over the next few days. Kitchen board is called “Garden Ct kitchen”
