Project Description:

I need help redesigning my living room. We love having the large open space for activities and want comfortable seating for the 5 of us to snuggle up and read stories or watch a movie. We recently removed our oversized coffee table and love the space that was created. I love function and pictures of our memories on the walls. We like the idea to have a place to put our feet up at the end of day. I think we really like neutral pieces that will last the test of time.

What do you currently dislike about the room?:

It does not feel put together or cozy. Before with the large coffee table it felt like we just bought large pieces of furniture to fill a large room. We wish we had a darker floor to contrast the molding better. The fire place looks very dated. We are not a fan of the windows shades but feel like we need something with slats because the sun heats up our house so much in the afternoon but we want to let sunlight in without as much heat. Not an easy way to sit next to my spouse while having a place to set our drinks.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:

I am not in need to keep any specific items but I also don't want to replace items just to replace them. That being said, not sure how we are going to keep the couches. The kids have ruined them :-)
