Project Description:

I have a sectional purchased from Macys (arrives in early June) but need help designing the living room/informal dining room with countertop barstools. I love neutrals with some greenery incorporated, patterns/textures more than colors, delicate black accents. If I were to lean towards any colors i'd likely choose rose/burgundy. I want the area to feel cozy and inviting. The house is a new construction so we are not looking at changing paint/floors.

Folding cars table/chairs are temporary and to be removed. We have a sectional ordered from Macys, the Radley 5-piece Fabric Chase Sectional Sofa In pattern- Dawson, color-Oatmeal which will arrive in June. It is a new construction so we have already picked the flooring/wall paint we would like to keep. The ceiling/beams are all white.

The screen shot I attached from an Instagram profile is the sectional fabric color Oatmeal (pattern Dawson) that we have ordered, the style is just a bit different. The chaise will be along the wall side not window side of the living room. For an informal dining table we would like at least 6-8 seats, preferably more or one that can expand with extra seating. We have also ordered window blinds that will be installed in approx 10 days. I have attached the color/pattern in the area of “things we would like to keep.” Thank you in advance so very much for all of your time and assistance creating this house into a home for us!

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish.
