For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish

space is a bit awkward - living room is long so TV is a bit far away to watch from the seating area. furniture is ugly and heavy. yellow wall color is terrible
There are 2 different layouts that different renters have used with the furniture - one with the couch against the wall (first 3 photos) and one with the couch in the center facing the water (next 2 photos) which we think may be the better option but look forward to seeing thoughts on layouts.
I also uploaded a photo from our upstairs neighbor (last photo), who has a dining table when you walk in and the sofa on the other wall. I think it's interesting, but my husband doesn't like the TV on the wall over the dining room table and thinks it's a bit awkward.
