Project Title:
Grand Millenial Style Living Room
Project Description:
We just moved in. We did not have any furniture, so we randomly placed some pieces (inherited or acquired for a penny) in our living room to meet our basic needs. Now we need help. The current flooring, which must be replaced, prevents us from thinking straight about the style and design of that room.
As we were looking for ideas online, we ended up falling in love with a design (see first pic) that does not correspond to or initial vision. We would love to pursue in that direction though, especially as we believe that it would be perfect for that room.
Keywords that we came up with as we tried to define the direction: British, warm, comfortable, playful, romantic, glamorous, cottage, refreshed Victorian, fluid, feminine, quality, small details. Is that possible to mix these things together?
The room must be welcoming and comfortable. It is our go-to space at night since it offers privacy (no need to close curtains), and we love using it during the day as well as it is open to the backyard (we can see birds and move in and out on warmer days). Please note that we won’t use the chimney until we can put doors on it, for we fear chimney soot.

What do you currently dislike about the room?:
The laminate flooring is ugly. We will replace it with hardwood flooring, and we need suggestions regarding the color and the wood grain. We need flooring that will highlight the beauty of the chimney. Are
