For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
Use a matte finish paint because it will be helpful in camouflaging those surface imperfections such as bumps and cracks as it does not reflect light. Just be careful because matte finish is more difficult to clean. You may also need to touch up scratches or marks by adding more of the same paint in the future.

dark and heavy, not much natural light, lots of angles/corners, column is in the way, narrow entryway from front door forces path through dining room, light fixture does not give much light and style does not vibe with the room, ceiling squares are too dark and make room look smaller than it is. My carpet also makes room look heavy

open to replace all but like the plant, lamp, leather chairs and console (we use these when room is being as sitting room/den (which is most of the time!) but remove chairs when setting up formal dining. Console eats up space when dining table is added so open to move it and have something more shallow

Please note other projects (Project #43930- which is to design my guest powder room) and (Project 07016 - design my two story entry) I would like the design/style of the dining/sitting room, adjoining powder room and entry/foyer area to flow.
We mostly use the room as a sitting area, lounge/den, music room for kiddos. When we have a formal dining event such as thanksgiving or Christmas with guest and it is cold out we bring in our outdoor dining table and chairs and use it as a dining room. We are hosting Christmas this year so want to make room stunning!
