Eclectic Living Room Interior Design Ideas

Project Description

I haven't upgraded my furniture since moving into my new house 2 years ago. What I ultimately want is a look that is comfortable and very livable but also enhances the space--my current furniture just provides somewhere to sit. I have ideas of what I'd like, but am not sure how to pull all the pieces together for a complete look.

What do you currently dislike about the room?

I don’t feel like the space is used well and it’s functional with no style. I also feel like it’s too dark—would like furniture to lighten it up and also some elements to bring in some color. I tend toward warmer tones and am a little more minimalistic (like some open space and don’t like lots of little decorative pieces everywhere).
Would also prefer better seating options—a couch and separate chairs rather than a large sectional.

Living Room:

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
