Colorful Eclectic Living Room Project Description
I need help with my whole house but would like to start with the living/entry. But I am open to doing more rooms - I'd love to just have a plan!I have zero talent for design so I'm looking forward to having help. I would like to use my existing furniture and other items if possible. I also want to use some of the pictures I have taken during our travels. I want a decorated look without it looking too decorated.
My husband absolutely does not want draperies.

There's no organization or flow. It doesn't have a put-together feel. Also the pictures on the wall look like postage stamps. It needs to be repainted but I need help picking a color - it impacts the entry, living, and dining. What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?
I actually would love to be able to keep most everything - and of course buy new stuff to make it look better. And paint. I'm ready to repaint everytihng.I collect and play a bunch of instruments. It would be great to keep those out because I play them often. Currently I have an ugly black shelf that a some of them are resting on. I'd love to get rid of this shelf!

The tiny pictures on the big green wall. They look like postage stamps. The stuff just doesn't seem to fit together. What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?
I like the chandelier in the entry. I love the rug. Some of the wall hangings are posters I bought when I lived in France. There's also a photograph of the northern lights that I took. I was planning on printing more of those eventually. I guess I like everything individually. But I'm open to changing it. Are you open to changing your wall colors?

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
Use a matte finish paint because it will be helpful in camouflaging those surface imperfections such as bumps and cracks as it does not reflect light. Just be careful because matte finish is more difficult to clean. You may also need to touch up scratches or marks by adding more of the same paint in the future.
