Coastal Modern Bathroom Interior Design
Project Description:
I want to remodel a small main/master bathroom in our family coastal/beach condo that we enjoy and rent out as well. I want to achieve a blue modern coastal vibe using rich colors, wood, and pebbles on shower floor to incorporate essence of the ocean/water and natural environment but also capture a spa like vibe. I have spent a lot of time researching online bathroom photos, ordering sample tiles, and going to tile stores and have selected some tile that I really like (photos of "sample" materials are uploaded in #12 of project brief below so PLEASE REVIEW before beginning proposal) . I have decorated the rest of the house in neutral greys/distressed white/greys and really want this room to be different with bold color and neutrals as appropriate. I need help putting it all together and want to see what designers come up up with (not a requirement to use my materials but should be directionally aligned).. Since this is the first time I am remodeling a bathroom - would really like a designer to help me determine the right mix of tile, accent tile, wood, paint, and possibly textured wallpaper to accomplish the modern coastal, sleek vibe I am going for (but not over the top luxury). I am wanting some design flair on the main wall with the vanity - def want to use some backsplash accent tiles. I also want to extend the size of the shower along the vanity wall and want the new vanity to be smaller than existing vanity as the current stand up shower is very small.
My thinking is to use large size tile on walls/shower for the main color (am thinking the blue tile in the photo) and then smaller accent tiles. I have selected a glass tile as an example of accent I really like and some other complementary accent tiles. I like sliced pebble on shower floor. I have targeted fairly durable/easy to clean materials where needed (floor/shower wall, etc) so porcelain since it is our home and a rental. My 77 year old father who is not very mobile and will prob eventually have a walker uses this bathroom so want to be sure we create an environment that is safe for him.
