i no longer care for tile floor, wooden island top, chandelier, barstools, dining chairs, fabric on upholstered chair, faucet. i would like the room to have lighter feel without painting cabinets. i want to keep wood flooring as it is original to this 300 year old farmhouse. kitchen is very open to back entry and hallway so they must coordinate with/compliment each other. i would also like to have small table/desk (of some sort) at end of kitchen counter (below 3 paintings- last image). FYI our back door is our main entryway.

Since your room gets little sunlight a warm or rich color will make the room look more luminous.
For your main color, we chose to use gray because it is neutral and seen as elegant and classy. It compliments many colors such as white, blue, and yellow and works well as part of a color scheme in any room.
Use a satin finish paint which has a bit more gloss than eggshell finish and is a little smoother. This finish is often used for windows, doors, trim, and ceilings, but can also be ideal walls in kids’ rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and other high-traffic areas because it is easier to clean than eggshell finish.
Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.
For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
