Exceptional San Diego Home Makeover Project Description
We just bought a home in San Diego and are looking for help with using some of our existing furniture best in the spaces provided, decor, and new pieces as you see fit. Since we just bought it, were not sure on exact measurements of each room but have attached photos and a reverse floor plan of the place. We won't be able to measure anything exactly until December 5th. For now, we were hoping to get the design rolling so we have an idea on how we want to put furniture in the new home.1. Family room: We have a sectional. It's probably a bit too big for the space but we're hoping to still make it work. Looking for help with layout, decor, lighting, and other pieces that may help.
2. Master bedroom: we have no furniture. It's a blank slate.
3. Other room 1/formal living/dining: this is a large room that connects. We don't use formal living. And the place doesn't have a loft or basement for the kids to play. So we're looking for a nice kids play area that can double as a lounge while they play. There's also an old chandelier in this area that we'd like recommendations on bringing it up to date. Open to rug suggestions and wall decor. We have our own dining table.
4. Other room 2: we're looking for help picking out furniture and decor for our backyard patio area. We have a nice pool but aren't sure how best to use the area. Interested in lounge chair ideas, dining table, umbrellas, rugs, lighting, etc

We don't like the furniture or the layout of the backyard space. It doesn't seem to really flow and it's not great for entertaining. Also no outdoor lighting. And the fireplace is wood burning. What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?
We have some outdoor furniture and decor from our old home. We're not sure if it can really work in this space and if so, how. So we're open to selling it if you don't think it can be incorporated in a nice way Are you open to changing your wall colors?

It's not very functional. We don't love the caramel feel of the kitchen. Feels very 90s. We're trying to bring it up to date. Open to fireplace ideas as well as it's a bit dated. What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?
We have a sectional sofa that we would like to try and make work. I know it's probably too big for the space but we really don't want to buy another sofa if we don't have to because our kids are little and hard on the furniture. If you think the sectional would go better elsewhere that works, but we'd probably prefer it in the family room because that's just how we use the space, to lounge around in and watch TV. It's like a family room/media room. Are you open to changing your wall colors?

So we're not sure if we should put it over the fireplace or on the other wall. Budget

It's currently a formal living room. We don't use a formal living room at all. And the house doesn't have a basement or a loft , so we'd like to turn this space into a kids play area, learning spot for them and have it blend with the dining area that's connected. I realize it's right off the main front door but they're just aren't many other great spots in the home to have a play room, so we're hoping to use this space for the kids to read, write, color, store some of their toys, practice a piano, etc What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?
We are open with starting from a blank slate. We have some things like a green nugget couch, teepee for kids, small table,and white shelves we could use but are open to starting from scratch. Are you open to changing your wall colors?

This room blends with a dining room. We already have a dining table and chairs we'd like to use. But we don't like the chandelier they have so any replacement suggestions would help. We're also looking for help on the layout of the room, seating for kids and or adults watching kids, a table for them to sit and color, a nice playful rug maybe, and decorative accents for the walls

Bedroom:
Using lighter colors in your medium-sized room will make it feel more airy and bright
For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
