Rachel received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design and has been working as a designer. Her work has mainly been focused on high-end residential projects such as single family homes and fully customized condominium units in high rise buildings. She hopes to get more involved in the hospitality industry in the near future, working on restaurant and hotel projects.
What drives you to design?
What drives me to design is knowing that the work of interior designers has the ability to change people's lives in a positive way. Whether it is a restaurant, hospital, school, or someone's private home, design has the ability to provide such a powerful and memorable experience for the end users and I love being able to take part in the process. Although people may not always recognize and acknowledge it, interior design shapes our lives and in my opinion, makes our world a better place.
We know you love designing, but what about it do you love most?
I really love the process of understanding the needs of the client and the space and using that information to create a beautiful, functional space. Seeing the transformation and the reactions from the client makes it all worth it!
Describe your go-to style:
My go-to style is typically more contemporary and modern. I also really enjoy working on projects with a slightly industrial or eclectic feeling. I like using simple, clean architecture as a timeless backdrop for a space filled with beautiful furniture and accessories to reflect the style of the client.
