Jovanka V.
Jovanka is an interior designer with over 5 years of experience, specializing in residential spaces such as apartments, houses, and luxury villas. She holds a degree from the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Forestry, with a focus on Furniture and Interior Design, and also attended a student exchange program at the Faculty of Design in Slovenia. Her work combines aesthetics with functionality, always tailored to the client’s lifestyle. She is passionate about every stage of the design process – from concept development to visualization and execution. Inspired by nature, art, and architecture, she creates spaces that feel as good as they look.
What drives you to design?
I have always been drawn to art and creative expression, and interior design has allowed me to translate that passion into creating inspiring, meaningful spaces. What truly drives me is the ability to shape environments that influence how people feel, work, connect, and live. I love the challenge of combining aesthetics with function—making spaces not only beautiful but also deeply practical and tailored to the people who use them.
Design, for me, is a form of storytelling. Every project is an opportunity to reflect the personality, values, and lifestyle of the client, while also bringing in my own sense of balance, harmony, and creativity. I’m especially inspired by the process of turning an abstract idea into a tangible, livable experience—from concept and sketches, to 3D visuals, to the final space that people actually use and enjoy.
What keeps me motivated is that each project is different. There’s always something new to learn, new problems to solve, and new ways to improve someone’s daily life through design.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
I draw inspiration from many sources—people, places, nature, art, and even everyday moments. But above all, I’m inspired by the individuals and stories behind each project. Understanding how someone lives, works, and what they value gives me a strong foundation to create something truly personal and meaningful. I believe that design should reflect the client’s lifestyle, habits, and emotions, not just trends.
I love every step of the design process—from the first spark of an idea and visual explorations, to technical detailing and final realization. Each project brings a new challenge and an opportunity to think differently, explore new materials, and find creative solutions that are both functional and beautiful.
Nature also plays a big role in my inspiration—its colors, textures, and balance constantly remind me how powerful simplicity and harmony can be. I’m also inspired by architecture, photography, and even conversations with people who are passionate about what they do. For me, inspiration is everywhere, as long as I stay curious and open to new experiences.
Ultimately, I design with the goal of improving everyday life—creating spaces that not only look good, but feel right.
Describe your ideal project:
My ideal interior design project would be one where I can be involved from the very beginning—starting with understanding the client's needs and lifestyle, creating a strong concept, and following through all the phases of design and execution. I enjoy working on projects that require a balance between aesthetics and functionality, especially when there’s a clear purpose for the space, like offices, kids' rooms, or multi-functional family areas.
I love when a project gives me the freedom to be creative, but also includes collaboration with other professionals and the client, because I believe the best solutions come from that exchange. Ideally, the project would allow me to work on both 3D visualizations and technical drawings, and to be part of the process until the final realization.
What truly excites me is transforming a space so it not only looks beautiful but also makes everyday life easier and more enjoyable for the people using it.
