For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish

It's a new build. I'm going to attach a few things here to give you an idea. The first two are drawings from this spring a friend of ours drew for us. I believe the dimensions are correct. We added on the new sunroom and screened in porch. I'll show you some pics of where we are with it currently. Wiring is up very soon & I need to decide what I want for lighting & where. I'd like help with that first!

A few other side notes. On the wall that faces the soon-to-be sunroom & will have the fireplace - it looks like there will be a window on the right side of the fireplace. That will not be there. That was in the original plans, but we realized that didn't make a lot of sense. It would just face into the screened in porch, so that will be a solid wall on the right side there. To the left of the fireplace will be a door to the screened in porch. This isn't in yet. I'm working on finding someone for the fireplace. I have a very good idea what I want that to look like. I'll attach a pic of the when I get a chance, too. It's on my husbands phone. It will be a wood burning fireplace.
I am Really hoping I'll be able to do a video call with someone this weekend while we're up there. We want to get started with the wiring & placement of lights is something I really want some help with.

I want to have a cozy, up-north, cabin feel in this room. I am going to attach another pic from about here that I will talk with you about when we meet, or via messaging here. I had met with a designer virtually before we even had this room drawn up, just to get an idea how it could look, etc. Mainly, it gave us an idea to start with, but I liked his ideas on the layout of the room. I'll post a pic or two in the section about here.
We have three grown children and our first grandchild on the way. I want cozy, good quality furniture in here. Something that will endure grandchildren, but has a really wonderful feel when you walk in. The view will be the showcase, but the fireplace will also be a highlight of the room. The vaulted ceiling is going to be great, too! I'm so excited to get it finished up. My goal is to have it completed by the end of summer. Currently, I'm working to find someone to install a fireplace and do the masonry. It's proven very difficult to find people, so we've ended up doing all of ourselves so far.
My husband thinks we should put recessed lights in the ceiling & I'm unsure about that. I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on that. I think direct lighting would be cozier, but it does need to be functional, too. If we want to play games or something maybe?
