The main wall with the slider and nine 2'x6' second story windows faces due S-SE so we we get terrific all-day sun and big chunky moving shadows. Sitting anywhere in this space one can look up and out at florida blue sky, green tree canopies, and funky curved tree trunks covered in grey moss. The views outside are very much a part of space during daylight hours. At night we are fortunate to have little light pollution on the that side of the house it becomes very dark. The space itself however is in stark contrast with the outdoors do to its rigid architecture (sloped ceiling, stepped edge demarcating the second story, large frameless windows, chunky cabinetry, and thick wall construction that makes the doorways look imposing. So we struggle with how best to tie both worlds together.
