Recalling time spent wandering as a child through a thicket of trees that surrounded her home, artist Alexandra Carter recreates the memory as a hazy stand of trees. Although appearing as a traditional watercolor, the work is the result of an unusual technique by which Carter applies pools of ink to drafting film, allowing the pigment to traverse across the non-porous surface in unpredictable ways.
