Transitional Home Office

Project Description

I would like help decorating my home office. It is currently empty now except for a desk that I'd like to keep. I'm looking for paint/wall color suggestions, window covering suggestions, lighting suggestions, desk chair suggestions and storage for files and some books. I'd also like to put a chaise or some other sort of seating in there.

Home/Small Office:

Using lighter colors in your small room will make it feel more airy and bright, and using the horizontal tone-on-tone stripes add interest without being overwhelming. I'd recommend using an odd number of stripes (I used 9 in the model) starting and ending with the darker color to better contrast the molding and ceiling color.

For your main colors, light and warm neutrals offer a fresh, clean, feel to the space and are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious. I highly recommend testing some samples of the recommended paint colors, as well as a few others that are similar, in your space. Neutrals change drastically depending on your lighting, so you may need to adjust your selections for your light.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish.
