    Hi sorry Laura,

I don't think we need a custom table, I like these idea you gave
  • Laura A.
on another note did you see my message about the art room?
    I copy again below:

"that's great! I'm so happy you liked the concept!
as the crafting table will be custom designed I need some more information: can you please just tell me a bit more which kind of storage would you like? just drawers or a mix of drawers/ cubbies for sheet of paper/ wrapping paper or drafting paper rolls..
of the 3 inspiration pictures on the board which one you like the most?

also would you like colorful stools (with back or backless?)or we keep the space neutral?
    thanks a lot!!!"
  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle,
no worries - I think some colors/textures looks like that because of the render , also the surfaces are too shiny - we can review and adjust everything to make it just as you desire!

    - texture on ceilings I agree that is too shiny => will fix it
    - I think the grays are fine, once we fix the textures/lights in te render they will look better. will fix the carpet color as well
my idea was to have 3 different shades of gray , see attached
    - will fix the wood texture of the screen wall and make it as your actual kitchen cabinetry
    - sofa: I took a look at the same site of the theatre chairs but I really didn't find any attractive sectional.. they all look bulky and oldish/traditional
what do you think to go either with the Cloud
    https://rh.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod15500274&categoryId=cat6120041
    or the Maxwell https://rh.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod9340017&categoryId=cat8960023
    or the Como https://rh.com/catalog/category/products.jsp?cellBackground=false&link=ComoModularFabricCollection&categoryId=cat12580157
    or the Bergen https://www.rhteen.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhtn_prod106582&categoryId=rhbc_cat479018
we can pick a fabric that goes perfect with the theatre chairs.

I also think the space is missing some interest.. I think we need an art piece on the back wall and /or in between the windows -any favorite theme? should we add some color or stay neutral?

    please see attached
let me know so I can review the design
    thanks!

Sorry my computer died when I was typing the other message.

I don’t know but I am not in love with the movie room yet.

    Sorry :(
  • Michelle
    Hi Laura,

    Sorry for the delay.

    Here are my thoughts

    - I don’t like the texture on the ceilings
-I don’t like that all the grays don’t go together, I feel like the colors are crashing.
-The rug I sent you the information on is not brown and the 3D shows a brown rug
    - I don’t like the look of the wood and the overall look of the screen wall. It just looks cheap, not sure why, not sure it’s the way it was rendered.
-I do like the movie chairs but I don’t like the difference in color between the chairs and the sofa.
    - not sure why but the sofa doesn’t seem very comfortable... it looks very “stiff”

  • Laura A.
    Hi again Michelle,
please find attached the images for the theatre room
I think it looks modern and clean, maybe is just missing some decorative pillows on the seats to add a little of texture/color?
maybe an big art piece on the back wall?
looking forward to hearing your thoughts,
    thanks
    Laura
  • Laura A.

Love it! it's good to go to 3d!

    Thank you!
  • Laura A.
    Yes!! Perfect
  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle
please find attached the initial concept for the art&craft/study room - I hope you will like it!
to maximize the space I would recommend the following:
    - long desk area along window wall (so you can also benefit of the natural light)
the desk concept would be as the old desk space in the previous project, with a drawer-floating desk (we can eventually add storage below if you need)
on each side we can have floor to ceiling storage , and some open/closed storage also in between the windows
    - floor to ceiling storage closet on the opposite wall: doors could be normal or sliding
    - reading area with floating shelves module on the back wall
as a built-in bench would not fit. instead of the floating shelves (I thought would be nice for books..) we can simply put 1 or 2 big art pieces
    - crafting table: this can be tailored to your needs depending on which storage you need as drawers, cubbies for sheets, ..
    - chandelier maybe we could do something big and more sleek? sonmething like thishttps://www.ylighting.com/suspenders-48-inch-2-tier-tandem-12-light-led-suspension-system-by-sonneman-lighting-SNNP135659.html#cgid=%0AYLLIG9%0A&start=24&sz=24&tileIndex=8

the materials/colors I used are same of the kitchen
we can add a pop of color if you'd like with the craft table stools , maybe the accent table in the reading area (is available in lots of colors)
    https://www.bludot.com/circula-tall-side-table.html

I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
    thanks,
  • Laura A.
YES Languedoc is perfect - simple, elegant and stylish - not too big not too small
in one of the images in the product page you can see it around a vanity, it looks beautiful!
I added it to the shopping list
  • Laura A.
    good morning Michelle
thanks for the video, the kitchen looks amazing!

the wood color of the nook table it's different from the wood of the dining table but it doesn't really seem an issue as the tables will be far from each other and you would barely notice the difference. both woods work well in the color scheme.
    https://rh.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod12740092&categoryId=cat10220034
and I still like the base of this table as it adds texture

however if you want an alternative:
    https://rh.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod14890218&categoryId=cat10220034
size 84'' - the dark base ties a bit with the dark upper cabinets of the kitchen

    https://noirfurniturela.com/categories/543982/dining-tables/products/gtab546waw/musala-dining-table,-washed-walnut
this is very eclectic and reminds a bit of the original RH one

I would not do the Heston as with the bench around a pedestal table would work better
  • Michelle
Hi Laura, the dining tables and chairs look great, I like the options we chose, however, I am having a problem with the breakfast table. I sent you a video showing the samples to you so you can see it.

I was thinking about that concrete top table from restoration hardware, the one you suggested before. What do you think?

    The Heston rectangular from RH

    The bench will be white
  • Michelle
I kind of like the LANGUEDOC PENDANT. Which one is your favorite of all of them?
  • Michelle
Yes, I told them to remove the chandelier.

So how about 2 of these pendants but with 7 lights? Would it be too much?

    https://www.ylighting.com/bolla-led-cluster-pendant-light-by-kuzco-lighting-KUZP135050.html#cgid=YLKUZ01&start=72&sz=24&tileIndex=7

  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle
    thanks for the video
the bathroom looks very beautiful and clean, however it seems they put the placement of the chandelier too close to the vanity?
chandelier should be in the middle of the room, otherwise is too close to the pendants.
    did you already order it?

an option could be to scrap the chandelier and just have the pendants of the vanity?
    here are some new options:

the problem is that most part of fixtures have a black cord
  • Laura A.
thanks for all the input on the art/study room
I'm reviewing and will get back to you if I have any question
    I'll be in touch ASAP

    Thank you
  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle
Yes this chair is perfect, love it!
I would recommend PERENNIALS PERFORMANCE TEXTURED LINEN WEAVE in dove, white or natural
They are all very beautiful colours,
Dove is great to tie with the rest of the kitchen/living

Game room and theatre are in progress, they should be ready asap
  • Michelle
Some of the things I liked about these pictures.

-The wall to ceiling storage with sliding doors is a good option possibly

    - kind of like the white tracking lights look, not sure

    - big table in the middle of the room
    - desks where the windows are
    - possible bench seating for reading? I am open for just chairs as well. I just like the look of that picture.

Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank you
  • Michelle
This room will be our study/ art/ crafts/ reading and storage room lol

Everything related to school, art projects, crafts, gift wrapping, etc, will happen in this room.

So I need tonssss of storage and I want to go all the way to the ceiling on that. I always liked those stairs connected to the cabinets, maybe we could add that somewhere.

I want a biggg bar height table in the middle with a big chandelier on top. Invision the same white and wood color as the kitchen for this room.

I need 2 computer desks and 1 music desk for my husband music keyboard and sound stuff.

They can all be together, no division necessary.

I love the little computer desks you’ve created for my previous project. The area behind the kitchen. You can use that as your inspiration.

I know this is a big room and a lot is going on in terms of custom cabinets, so please let me know if you need any additional cost. I am really excited about this room, because thinks where all my mess will go lol

    Game and movie

    Any updates ?
  • Michelle
    Hello Laura,

The chair you recommended for the dining room is out of stock, do you like this one instead?

    https://rh.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod17810187

I was thinking in the dove color
  • Laura A.
    cool! will work on it
    thanks!

for the family study art room, based on what discussed before is there any change?
please refresh me about about your needs/vision in the more detail as you can :-) it would be super helpful
    thank you!!!
  • Michelle
    Family Study

Hi Laura, I would like to start on the family study.

    Here are the measurements.

    Thanks
    Michelle

  • Michelle
    Hello Laura,

Please go ahead with the 3D.

    Thank you!!
    Michelle
  • Laura A.
    good morning Michelle
please let me know your thoughts on game room and theatre so we can finalize and I could have the 3D ready for next week :-)
    thanks!
  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle,
I would keep the windows as they are always good to have for natural light, ventilation and view -
also if you keep them you could use the theatre room maybe during the day in a more informal way just for kids movie watching, or as an extension of the game room
the LED design will just be asymmetrical as only on the long wall opposite the window and the ceiling (instead of both walls) - it could even be more interesting!
I would give it a go like this and we can always close the windows if needed - should we try it in the 3D first?
  • Michelle
No no, I am sorry, I meant the windows in the movie theater. So we could have that design I like between the ceiling and the wall with the LED.

I would never close the windows on the gameroom lol lol I love windows lol

We were just thinking about the movie room because that room will be darker anyway.

    What are your thoughts?
  • Laura A.
about the game room - which windows would you like to close??????
I would really NOT recommend to do that as natural light is very important and the space would look not as pleasant without a view and some natural light, it would feel like a bunker.. but up to you of course.
please let me know on this as I think it would change quite a bit the feel and the balance of the whole space, impacting also the design of the ceiling.

as the ceiling is not very high I would recommend to not lower it too much (especially if you close the windows!)
we can create a ceiling design as in the old game room project, with a higher wooden paneled ceiling in correspondence of the pool table, bar and shuffle table.
we can also lower the ceiling to create a "nook" along the wall with the windows in correspondence of the bench as in the example attached
I re attach here the images of the old project for reference

looking forward to hearing from you
    thanks
  • Laura A.
    Good morning Michelle
I uploaded in the shopping list the furniture and rugs for dining, family and entry - please let me know if anything is missing or you would like to modify anything.
I didn't put the sectional as you already ordered it - can you please tell me which fabric/color?
=>fabrics for stools, dining chairs and accent chairs in the kitchen/nook family are to coordinate with it, I would suggest white or dove.

for the Kids bedroom we discussed the rug and I sent you some options a while ago but never had your response. I repost below my mesage:
" I think it's better a big rug as there is not enough space for 2 small ones.. plus they will be a bit tricky and kids might trip on them! a big 9'x12' or 1'0x14' in the middle would work
    some suggestions:
    https://www.crateandbarrel.com/baxter-blue-wool-rug/f67647 (or gray)

  • Michelle
    Rugs,

Can you give me some help with rugs?

I don’t have the links for the rugs you’ve recommended for the kids room, entrance and family room.

I would like to order them as soon as possible. Thank you :)
  • Michelle
    Hello Laura,

Please let me know when you will be able to give me the shopping list for the family, dining and breakfast area please.

I really would like to order the stuff. Thanks
  • Michelle
    Hi Laura,

I’ve talked to my husband and we would like to close the windows with drywall so the design of the lights can be continuous. So please ignore the windows.

    Thank you
    Michelle
  • Michelle
I like everything so far! We are good to go with the black chair. Let’s try that color.

What I would like to know is what are your thoughts for the ceiling. You know I love ceiling designs lol

On our last gameroom, you did some wood details, are you thinking about incorporating something like that as well? I want something nice and “wow”for that room.

    Thank you :)

  • Laura A.
    hi Michelle
please find attached the updated game room board +layout
I think we could fit 2 small chairs+accent table by the shuffle table :
    https://www.cb2.com/stature-ivory-chair/s665643
    https://www.arteriorshome.com/haven-accent-table-4132

also available in black if you prefer a more masculine chair , or in alternative:
    https://www.cb2.com/yukon-dining-chair-black/s155641
    https://www.cb2.com/giulia-chair-ivory/s508270
    https://www.cb2.com/cleo-black-cantilever-chair/s655674

I would put just a Tv screen on the small wall on the left of the pool table, on the big wall by the staircase I would suggest some art (as other wise it would be too many TVs)
do you have any idea for art theme? should we do something glamorous in gold/black/white colors or should we stick to the game room theme? (signs, posters..)
also how big the TV screens will be? do you have any idea of brand/size/model?
looking forward to hearing your thoughts,
    thanks!

  • Laura A.
thanks for the feedback on the game room - sounds good
I'm reviewing it in detail and get back to you tomorrow
  • Laura A.
COOL! no space for the snack bar in the back, also it would not look nice.
my plan was to put it inside the built-in cabinets around the screen - say one column will be for blankets, pillows and so and the other column can store a small fridge + storage for glasses, plates, snacks..
    sounds good?
also what color should the walls be? I was thinking to mage a gray degrade to enhance the wall/ceiling design - OK for this?

    and confirming seats:

please let me know so I can start the 3d model production :-)
  • Michelle
    sounds good.

Is there any room for a snack bar on the back wall?
  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle
please find attached the updated concept for the theatre room with the wall & ceiling LED design that you like
please note that we can make it only on one wall as the opposite has the 2 windows
looking forward to hearing your thoughts,
    thanks!
  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle,
no worries I understand. please find attached the updated board for the game room with the telluride shuffle table as this one:
    https://www.playcraft.com/telluride-shuffleboard-table.html
12' is the shortest and the only one that can fit, the other sizes would be way too long.
because of the shuffle table we need to scrap also the console table under the TV in between the windows.

should we add another chandelier above the shuffle table?

for the bar wall, what do you think of adding some simple shelving
    - or as version #1 simple brass boxes
    - or as version #2 black wood shelves with brass vertical mount

    let me know your thoughts
    thanks
  • Michelle
Hi Laura, I loveeee the design as is but I have to let him win this one.

He wants to keep the bar as is and add the shuffle board in place where the black couch is. Against that wall.

In regards to the movie room, can I see another moodboard before we proceed to the 3D please? I was not sold completely on the first design and I feel like the changes are too drastic for me to approve and go to the next step.

  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle
Sorry to hear about this.. ! ;-)
It seems like he wants a real game room with plenty of entertainment..
as you said you will not drink/entertain drinking too much but mostly use the games, would it be an option to reduce the bar area then?
So we can fit the shuffle board and the arcade game and still try to have a small seating area? Let me know which direction to take as this is very impacting the design

Also what are your thought in the theatre room? If we can finalise the design soon I could put it in 3D production
    Thank you
    Have a nice weekend!
  • Michelle
    Hi Laura,

I just showed the design to my husband and apparently the shuffle board table became a “must have” :( ....

Believe me ... I didn’t want to give anything up from the design to put this table because I feel it will throw the whole balance off but he really wants it! He even added that he wants a arcade game as well... :(

He said he wants to use that room with the kids and since we don’t drink that much, he thinks we won’t use it if we don’t have games.

He wanted to remove the black sofa and add a modern shuffleboard table there against the wall. We can get a modern one. In regards to the arcade game... I’ll let you see if that can fit it.

I knowwwww... he just killed our design :(((
  • Michelle
Wowww!!! I loveee the initial concept! It’s exactly what I had in mind!!!

I still want shelves with lighting for marks bottles, so we need to think about something cool for that.

Love the dark and gold details... it will give a different look to that wing of the house!

I loveee the seating area below the window. I like that you incorporated some tables on it .

I think the main improvement for this area is the bar wall. My husband wants a “wow” factor to this bar... so please help me with that.

  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle
    I hope you are well
Please find attached the concept for the game room, I hope you will like it!
it's in the same color scheme of the rest of the house with some masculine details (lights, dark accents) as you requested.
-floor is the same as upper floor.
-the bar counter will be very similar to previous design, double height in Onyx backlit.
to create a feature wall behind we could use Onyx again with backlight an create a design similar to the theatre room to tie with it - what do you think?
the TV screens will be recessed into this wall.
we can add shelving for bottle/glasses or leave blank.
the light fixtures on the bar are pivoting, so you can create different effects. the design is simple but I think they are very dramatic
-the bench under the window will have tables on the far sides and in the middle to break up the lenght
I added brass/gold details to add a sophisticated and glamorous touch.
we can complete by adding big art pieces in the same colors on the wall behind the couch and on the staircase.
I hope you will like this initial concept!

I look forward to hearing your thoughts! thanks!
    - there is not enough space for pool + shuffle table so I included only the pool table.

    Hi Michelle
please find attached the initial concept for the art&craft/study room - I hope you will like it!
to maximize the space I would recommend the following:

  • Laura A.
    Hi Michelle
    thanks for the video
the bathroom looks very beautiful and clean, however it seems they put the placement of the chandelier too close to the vanity?
chandelier should be in the middle of the room, otherwise is too close to the pendants.
    did you already order it?

an option could be to scrap the chandelier and just have the pendants of the vanity?
    here are some new options:

the problem is that most part of fixtures have a black cord
  • Laura A.
thanks for all the input on the art/study room

I was thinking to mage a gray degrade to enhance the wall/ceiling design - OK for this?

please let me know so I can start the 3d model production :-)
  • Michelle
    sounds good.

    - or as version #2 black wood shelves with brass vertical mount

    let me know your thoughts
    thanks
