Timeless Creative Home Interior Design Project Description
I just moved into my forever home. It's me, my dog, and my two teenage children. I put my old living room furniture in the basement for the kids. the living/dining room combo and home office are on the main floor of the home and I need help with both. The house has big windows on one side to capture a great view of the city.My home office doubles as a guest room with it's own bathroom. I already ordered a green velvet sleeper sofa from Apt2B for that room, so we'll have to work around that. Both rooms are on the main floor of my home and I am often on zoom calls, so I prefer an aesthetic background. I need a comfortable (and stylish) desk chair desperately.
I have wood floors everywhere, so I need rugs as well. I'm allergic to wool and don't like rugs that shed or are rough.
I have teenagers and a dog, so I like practical pieces that withhold some wear. I like to anchor with quality pieces I will have for years. I want a space that is functional and promotes a sense of well being/sanctuary. I like mid-century, modern, and boho. I love plants. I particularly struggle picking out art.

I work from home and don't currently enjoy my work space. I want something that combines the functionality of an office with the warmth of home. This room doubles as a rare guest room (only for my dad), so there is a sleeper sofa I want to incorporate.I want it professional, yet feminine. I live in Salt Lake City, yet my company is headquartered in NYC. I also have employees in Seattle. I was thinking it could be fun to incorporate 2 or 3 clocks to help me keep track.

I like the chair and footstool, but could move it to another room if needed. I like the chandelier. I just bought the Frame TV and like it, but could change the "artwork". Are you open to changing your wall colors?

The teenagers have a living room in the basement. I want this to be my grown up living room where I can hang out just me, with my kids/dog, or host friends. I had visualized a leather sofa/sectional, but am open to others. Cozy while looking put together. As part of the dining room, I need bar/counter stools.I do like incorporating a family photo somewhere, but want a new one.

Home/Small Office:
Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.
For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
