- The island is a total scrap and redesign. The photo attached is an idea we really like that has it oriented a different way and the island extends into the breakfast nook is and half wood half marble
- I have new appliances already, stainless steel cooker/microwave combo and a new SS gas top, plus a new SS dishwasher
- Possibly new pantry doors or pantry redesign to match the new cabinets design/colour
- Totally new floors
- Living room redesign i.e. all furnishings, floor and décor and we have plans to wreck the fireplace wall and start from scratch with a long modern gas fire
- I’m thinking I want to fill in those small windows above the main windows if a design idea came up with making them look better than eyebrows

There are a lot of windows with boring blinds and they have those strange eyebrow windows above the main windows. We are getting new windows fitted in about 3 weeks and they will be picture windows all the way around except for the middle window in the bay, which has to be a single slung for egress regulations.
Because of the Texas sun shining in the Bay side in the morning and in from the garden in the afternoon I want to fit motorized blinds but the windows/walls need dressing up somehow so they are not just windows.
I hate the firplace not being symmetrical, and although we only have about 4 cold days a year, Kim loves the fire, so we need a decent realistic looking gas fireplace that can flame but not heat. Even a ribbon fireplace might work, but not the ones with white rocks and blue gas colour

We will keep the stainless steel fridge freezer (less the fridge magnets!). We have an LG super quiet dishwasher in the island you can't see, and is stainless steel.
Pantry is good size and we will keep it or it could be redesigned as part of the new kitchen cabinets chosen or maybe change the door style. The pantry door is the white double doors next to the kitchen counters.
We have a brand new Whirlpool - 30" Built-In Gas Cooktop - Stainless steel (Model: WCG97US0DS) that we would like to go in the same place as the current gas hob, unless you have a better idea where to put it plus we have a new Whirlpool - 30" Single Electric Convection Wall Oven with Built-In Microwave - Stainless steel (Model: WOC95EC0AS) that we want to use in the design, rather than the current oven and upper microwave.

I'll drip feed through some design ideas but basically we are erring on either a light grey shaker style cabinet with white quartz counter top or we also considered whether a white cabinet and grey counter top would work. The island we want is to be brand new design so it is turned around and the end sticking into the breakfast nook morphs into a table. In the island we want the dishwasher and a wine chiller. We want the double oven combo mentioned above with the gas hob, their is no extraction hood so we need one to get the smell away out of the house, so the hood has to take into account the ducting will have to go across the top of cabinetry and through the pantry wall to outside, effectively right as you look at the hob

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.
For your main color, we chose to use gray because it is neutral and seen as elegant and classy. It compliments many colors such as white, blue, and yellow and works well as part of a color scheme in any room.
On walls: Use a matte finish paint because it will be helpful in camouflaging those surface imperfections such as bumps and cracks as it does not reflect light. Just be careful because matte finish is more difficult to clean. You may also need to touch up scratches or marks by adding more of the same paint in the future.
On Trim & Cabinets: Use a satin finish paint which has a bit more gloss than eggshell finish and is a little smoother. This finish is often used for windows, doors, trim, and ceilings, but can also be ideal walls in kids’ rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and other high-traffic areas because it is easier to clean than eggshell finish.
