Hello.
I would like to redesign a bedroom in my lake house in the woods. I like classic, warm, timeless, sophisticated design that is comfortable and relaxing. I do not like modern design, feels too cold to me. I would love help creating an amazing space. One thing is that the room will have twin beds, for more guest accommodations - possibly a trundle. The room is a bit dark, unfortunately, faces west and is on the second floor and looks directly into trees. You can only see the lake if you are close to the window. It does get the sunset but again, you are pretty high up. I would like to keep the dark wood of the trim around the windows and closet doors as it is consistent throughout the house. I would be happy to get rid of the blinds- too heavy and add drapes. I will provide measurements to better assist you. The room is 19' X 12' but I do not have the height of the wall facing the lake. Also, I will keep the beige carpet. I am obsessed with color and love contrast. The walls are currently blue, but I am not sure which way I want to go here and would love different ideas. The natural wood trim provides a lot of contrast in the room and throughout the rest of the house, so maybe a swiss coffee type of color? Or a Smoke? I use BMoore paint. I am more monochrome (easy on the eye), with the use of accent colors for depth and interest. I use accent walls, but maybe I should be done with those. lol. I will look for Pinterst info. Thank you.

The room feels very disjointed to me. It is a mish-mash of incomplete style. I would like to have a more pulled-together and complete feel to it. The light is not great, but sunsets are beautiful. I would like to get rid of the dark blinds and replace with black out drapes. Accessories feel detached.
What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:
I would like to keep the dark trim around the windows and the closet. I love the contrast and the dark trim exists throughout the entire house and gives it a rustic feel, which I like. I will also keep the carpet for now. Floors are unfinished underneath the carpet, so an area rug is out. I also want to keep the dresser and the table with two shelves. I could have contractor run a small beam in corner of the room up to the peak on either side to make it feel more rustic. Possibly. Just a thought. I don't necessarily need to keep the beds, although I do want twin beds in there to maximize beds for guests. Perhaps a trundle for one of the beds.
