Project Description:

I currently have bedroom furniture for 3 bedrooms. (2 from our apartment and 1 from the seller). So I’ll need furnishings for 2 more bedrooms. My idea is to make the upstairs playroom into a wellness area with a home gym, a massage table, and maybe an infrared sauna. The current gym room in the house is the downstairs bedroom between the garage and the kitchen.

My Living Room

What do you currently dislike about the room?:

I think the fireplace wall is lacking interest and I think the tv wall is dated. We also have to potentially build something in to house our sound system and room must accommodate speakers and record player. We had the white from cabinets custom built in Denver for this purpose and it would be great to use them here if at all possible. I also don’t love the 4 chandeliers. If we grouped them together or rearranged them...maybe.

Regarding the tv wall, I notice that in the floor plans, it was built to house a fountain. I’m wondering if we can add a fountain now here or somewhere else in our design scheme. Regarding the fireplace wall, there’s a local builder called Blue Heron who does something with their fireplace walls I like. I don’t know the materials but I have screenshots of it.

Oh! And the seller currently has purple drapes in this room in addition to neutral drapes. We’ll want to replace or get rid of the purple ones.

The room is big...and seems like it’s lacking jewelry...like wood paneling or tile on fireplace. The purple curtains have to go.

The bathroom does not have a makeup vanity so one of the things I considered doing with the secondary bedroom space was to create a dressing area with a place for me to sit and do my my hair and makeup and do the occasional zoom call. I would like advice...is it better to do that or replace the bathroom vanity? What would you do Wanda? I’m guessing it’s a replace the vanity situation which means we can use that big bathroom mirror somewhere else in our design and we can make a sitting area in that bedroom space.

The sellers are not leaving any furniture in this room. We own the canopy bed and the RH Modern Italia bed pictured below...both in king size. We also own and will bring the furnishings pictured with the Denver canopy bed. I will keep and use what makes sense...I like the modern paneled headboard that goes up to the ceiling and built in looking side tables. I also like bedside pendant lighting and I’m still always drawn to a pretty canopy bed moment...attached a few inspiration images.

The window coverings. This room also needs furnishings, art & rug. I’d like to have a dresser & mini desk built in. I feel like the headboard should go to the ceiling but can we make it work? Or maybe I can use it in another room?

The seller is leaving the bed and headboard in this room. (The headboard in this room is attached to the wall.) I planned on trying the side tables from our Denver guest room in this room but we have options. Those side tables are from Mitchell Gold Bob Williams and come with both brass and polished nickel hardware.

And the seller might be leaving the chaise lounge, not sure. Attached a couple of inspiration pics for tv wall...it’s all I’ve come up with so far.

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

.For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
