Project Description:

We would like help with our combined living/dining, master bedroom, study/office area, and entryway.

We have some living/dining furniture from our old apartment, but we really need help to pull the space together in a very polished and sophisticated way (e.g., with furnishings, decor, prints/artwork, shelving, rugs etc.). The other spaces (master bedroom, office, entryway) are much more bare in terms of furniture.

We are a professional working couple. We would like our NYC condo to look modern, sleek, sophisticated, contemporary but also inviting/comfortable. We are open to colors, but do like neutrals, different textures, black, grays, whites, creams, so that our apartment has a grown up city apartment feel and the decor is attractive and inviting. We would like to work within our budget but are also very open to cost-saving ideas and guidance on where to spend more or less. We would love it if our space could look amazing!

The attached photos are really just guides--they aren't completely 100% our vision but do capture some of what we are after.

We have already selected paint and we will be getting some recessed light fixtures and sconces installed in the living/dining and bedroom. See all paint selections below -

We want our master bedroom to feel modern, relaxing, sophisticated, "grown up," and tied together. Our bedroom is a sanctuary for us, no TV, we'd love to have the space look beautiful and feel restful/calm. We do not like not tufted upholstered bed frames - prefer wooden or minimal sleek upholstered bedframes. We also have walk-in closets.

We are not tied to this, but wondered if there is a way to incorporate, in a sophisticated way, the NYC or Sydney (Australia) skyline, or elements of the sea/ocean (without being too beachy).

We have picked two wall sconces that will go close to the ceiling on either side of the bed (Melete Wall Sconce in White).

We want this room to still feel modern/contemporary but also fresh and creative (maybe a touch eclectic). The issue is that there is a door to the kitchen and an open entry to the living/dining, making furniture placement a bit tricky (we'd love to have bookshelves, reading nook, interesting wall frames/art etc.). We'd like to define this space as a study, and have it feel as such, so it can be a productive/functional space - we do a bit of work from home. Would love to have a decorative/interesting ceiling light for the middle of the room (our ceilings are low though) and a table lamp.

We are open to the idea of a wall covering in this space, but we'd like to stick to these paint colors -

Our entryway, although not huge, is a good width and there is ample wall space on both sides. Love to have a wow factor as you walk in the door, keeping with sleek/modern feel of apartment. Maybe gold or marble console, with art/frame above the console. We also need some seat/ottomans/small stools to pull out from console or next to console so we can sit and pull off shoes/boots etc. We'd also really like a beautiful contemporary flush mount at the entryway ceiling - our ceilings are low (8 feet) so need something more flush.

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
