Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.
For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
Use an eggshell finish paint for walls which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish.
Use a semi-gloss paint finish paint for the built-ins as it is ideal for trim and cabinets. It has a slight shine and is easy to clean.

It's a new construction. Obviously the pictures aren't great. My biggest concerns are the size of the space and being able to fill it in a way that makes it feel used. It backs up to the Kitchen/island, and I would like to be able to utilize both spaces effectively but am not sure how.

I am not necessarily bringing any furniture with me. There is a hanging fan that has yet to be installed, but it's truly an open canvas. I was hoping to include a TV/entertainment system, and I do have some gaming systems when I would like to be able to hide. I could also put them in a different room, however I would like a TV in the room.
