i completed a kitchen/family room renovation about 2 years ago and I am not thrilled with the outcome. i am stuck with my 30K cabinets (only refaced them). I like my kitchen table (very old 10 foot harvest table from a German pub) and satisfied with light above it. happy enough with fireplace (new tile). not crazy for kitchen back splash but paid a decent amount for that. please help me love my renovation.

What do you currently dislike about the room?:

den is not "warm". this is a redesign that i am not happy with. must keep cabinets, wall color, joy bird sofas (love these), white chairs, end tables and coffee table and chandeliers. love my kitchen table and fine with chairs.. could change counters, floors, accessorize den (ok with fireplace surround and mantle). rugs are new but the one under the sofas is almost black from minimal traffic. the backsplash is new but if you think you can't work with it, i can change. drapes aren't new but beautiful silk and expensive. i could possibly use elsewhere if you think they don't fit.

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
