Natural Bedroom and a Neutral Nursery Design

Project Description:

All the prior work holds true here, we want to continue that style in a seamless way. All of the particulars are detailed in the description of the rooms. Budget is flexible. Similar quality pieces as we picked out previously would be desired.

In our house currently, we have three unfinished bedrooms. The front bedroom will serve as our primary guest bedroom once designed. Once we become parents we will transfer the primary guest bedroom furniture to our upstairs, unfurnished bedroom. As such, we want to have two designs for the front bedroom, one as a guest bedroom, and one as a baby room. Second, we have a side bedroom that needs to be fully designed and will permanently serve as our secondary guest bedroom. Last we have a breakfast area that needs some proper seating picked out and a bar cart or other decorative piece to fill some wall space.

This bedroom will be a baby's room. We will not furnish this room immediately as for the time being, it will serve as a primary guest room per our prior description. However we would like to design a baby's room as we are planning to become parents in the coming years and would like to have a design and potential furniture options ready to go. Eventually we will move the primary guest bedroom upstairs and implement this design as our baby's room.

This guest bedroom will be a primary suite for our guests. Once we have a baby in the future (fingers crossed!), we intend to move this bedroom to the upstairs bedroom and convert that space to our primary guest suite. So any design of this room, should be relatively transferable to the space upstairs. See BR 2 in the floor plan upload (and BR 5 for upstairs dimensions).

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish.
