We just bought this house at the end of summer and it needed a complete remodel. We have repainted all the formerly peach walls with varying shades of grieve and have replaced all the floors. That's as far as we have gotten due to some family health issues that kept us from spending too much time on the house. Right now this room is very bland, but with the right accessories, wall art, tv console, window coverings, etc that add those needed pops of color and character I know this can be beautiful. This room receives a ton of sun all day due to all the windows.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:

The couch is staying. I know it's probably too big for the room but my. Outfield is 6'7" and we have two middle school girls that are pretty much full size adults so we need space.

We will be switching the fireplace from gold to silver and the opening next to the fireplace which the home builder created to place the tv will have white cabinet doors added. We need lots of help figuring out the tv wall. We prefer a darker wood look tv console (at least that's what we envision now). Not sure about adding a rug. I would love to have something in the corner behind the couch where the big window is, but not sure what (lamp, art, table?). We have a lot of surface area above the firpleace to place some type of art or something. We had it filled up with Christmas decorations and it was nice having something with color up there.

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use gray because it is neutral and seen as elegant and classy. It compliments many colors such as white, blue, and yellow and works well as part of a color scheme in any room.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
