I don’t like the chandelier, it’s not really my style. I’m not too fond of the tv on that left wall, unless that’s the only place to put it I guess I can live with it. I think the stone on the fireplace looks a little dated so I’d like to give it a little makeover as well.

The living area will be used a lot to lounge and watch tv, so we’d like something comfortable and cozy. Easy to clean sofa, stain resistant and durable is a must. I think the fireplace is a little dated and lately I’ve been really drawn to dramatic fireplace areas. Also, while looking for inspiration pictures I realized my type of decor is Parisian glam leaning more to the moody side or dark colors. I love merging old world and new world decor, specifically baroque style frames with a more modern type of art. Im drawn to dark colors, statement light fixtures, mirrors and a tiny bit of color here and there. Same goes for the dining area pretty much.
I want to feel like I stepped into a beautiful Parisian inspired modern hotel room. To the point where I love it so much that I packed it all up and brought everything home. Heee hee! ?
Before I forget, I would absolutely need some window treatments or blinds as well.

I feel the kitchen is too masculine for my liking and backsplash is too dated. Although I love and need the storage, something about these cabinets seems a little off or kind of harsh looking. It might be the dark color that I don’t like, or just the overall design that I don’t love. I can’t really pinpoint exactly what I don’t like, I just know this is not my style.

It’s extremely difficult to find a single picture of a kitchen that includes all the elements that I love such as wood tone, countertop color, hood, hardware, etc. On the flip side of the coin, there are so many different types of kitchen designs making it hard to choose which style I like the most. I notice current kitchen trends are changing a lot. They are very straight-lined and minimalistic. Although nice, the designs feel a little “safe” to me. But, of course, that is just my opinion and I respect it all. :)
My ideal kitchen for this space is timeless, elegant, sophisticated, with a pop of drama whether it be with color, a statement hood, backsplash, and/or countertop, etc. I tend to lean towards cool tones, but I am definitely loving gold accents. I need lots of storage. One thing I forgot to include is a picture of the pantry adjacent to the kitchen. I remember seeing a very beautiful custom door with frosted glass to complement the kitchen.
Regarding things I’m not a fan of, I’d say… shelf accents on the wall. Although I love frosted glass doors, I prefer just an accent of those versus all glass doors everywhere. That’s pretty much it. Other than that, the space is your blank canvas and I welcome thoughts, ideas and suggestions! Thank you, Wanda!
