My house was designed in the 90's. It hasn't been upgraded. We have all golden oak flooring. I need help with bringing my entire 1 floor together cohesively. I would like to start with my Living room. What's your favorite decor style?

Notes from designer on site:Asian theme in decor and art have a special place in client's heart and she would love to be able to incorporate them into her interiors without being overpowering the rest. Client is looking for a way to reference Asian culture in very subtle, coherent ways. Client is also fascinated by the warmth and picturesqueness of Tuscan culture. Warm, rich hues of burgundy, orange and brown would be the colors of preference in accents. Another way to describe clients style would be "rustic Mediterranean". Client also likes rod iron elements present in interiors.
This formal living room would ideally host 6 people. Client is hoping to explore more layout options. There is a need for a new rug and window treatments. There is also a need to have a strategy of showcasing much of the art and artifacts brought from overseas.

Client would like to keep existing table, but is willing to replace dining chairs. Client would like to soften the overall look with help of upholstered chairs, a new rug and possibly some drapery. Client would like to incorporate a sideboard if possible. Piano can stay in this space or moved somewhere else. Overall client want this space to flow well with the rest of the first floor referencing Asian and Tuscan influences throughout.

Living Room:
Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.
For your main color, we chose to use a subdued, rich orange as it stimulates cheerful and revitalizing feelings. It is bold and exciting, yet friendly and may be perceived both as formal and casual at the same time.
Use a matte finish paint because it will be helpful in camouflaging those surface imperfections such as bumps and cracks as it does not reflect light. Just be careful because matte finish is more difficult to clean. You may also need to touch up scratches or marks by adding more of the same paint in the future.
