Project Description:

I just downsized from 2000 sf to 850. Now my rooms are multipurpose. I need assistance with my 14 x 17 living/dining/office and 15' x 6' kitchen and entry, and possible further assistance down the road with my bedroom/dressing/bathroom. Former place was midcentury: browns, burnt orange, mustard yellow, teal and baby pink. Lots of plants. I want something more luxe, more adult, with a wow factor now since it's a high rise condo in the city.
Problems to solve: couch w/ sleeping, lighting, storage, desk, dining would be a nice to have but I have a counter so not absolutely necessary.

North exposure via wall of windows in a high rise
There is only a central ceiling light fixture and no recessed lighting.
No storage.
Furniture placement.
Need sleeping sofa in here
I'm thinking of using Expand furniture's Junior Giant Edge console/dining table as a desk and dining table with a frame tv above so I can use it as a monitor but open to ideas.
Paint is BM classic grey eggshell and BM simply white trim and ceilings in satin. Flooring is a lightened/washed brown hardwood as in Mladen's design in the link above.
Ceiling is 102" and I plan to likely use 2 traverse rods with drapes to the ceiling possibly from The Shade Store. Open to ideas.
Biggest issue is multipurpose nature of room, storage, and lighting. I almost bought Tate storage but did not want to commit to a mid century look.
I have kids and pets. Performance fabrics are a must.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:

I have barstools I want to keep. Brushed steel gray cushion.
I have some great artwork that can either stay or go but it is quite midcentury.
I have an existing hairpin console in walnut that can stay or go.
Current Crate & Barrel couch in chocolate brown too big for the space. Also since the new kitchen is white and grey I'm thinking midcentury might be too dark and heavy. Not sure, which is why I need your help.
The only thing to keep are my barstools. If anything can be reused that's fine but not committed to my old items as this is a different space.
I have to admit, I love aged brass.
