Project Title:
Feminine Green Eclectic Hallway Interior Design
Project Description:
Please note that this is an extension of our other "Transform my space" project that included the main entry and living room. The kitchen will remain mostly as-is for now (other than the paint on the walls), so by doing the hallway it will help tie together the entire first floor. I'm entering "not sure" for budget only because we are not finished with the first project yet so we aren't 100% certain where we are going to be budget-wise. Let me know if you need an actual number.

Photos of your room:
Items you want to keep:
Room Label:
Main hallway
I want this room to feel more masculine/feminine/neutral:
Neutral
What type of sunlight does this room receive?:
Very little sunlight
What do you currently dislike about the room?:
Right now it is just an open and bare hallway. We have no furniture, lighting, etc. in there except for one large liquor cabinet (detailed below) so it's currently just a big empty canvas.
There is also a pair of odd ceiling lights in the stairwell that we feel could probably even be removed (see attached pic), but would trust your judgement on whether we simply replace them. They just look odd right now. The main hallway lights we are torn on. We don't necessarily love them, but if they make sense in the context of the overall room design perhaps it's a way to save a few dollars.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:
There is a 48"w x 18"d x 78"h liquor cabinet we would like to be placed somewhere in the hallway.
Are you open to changing your wall colors?:
Yes
Do you have a preference for either paint or wall covering, or are you open to both?:
Open to both
Are you open to changing your floor covering?:
Yes, Area Rugs

Additional comments to designers:
Overall we'd really like to soften this space. Right now it feels like a long, poorly lit echo chamber. We'd like rugs so that its not such a skating rink for the dogs. We'd also like softer lighting (i.e. lamps for primary lighting vs. using the overhead lights for day-to-day use). More surface area for placing small items would be a plus. Also, in our heart of hearts, some kind of cart would be amazing.... this hallway is a straight but long shot from our kitchen to an enclosed porch where we'll eventually be set up for outdoor cooking and dining, so having something that can transport some of what we would need there would be great. That being said, it really needs to be the right piece.
