We are looking to renovate/refurbish our downstairs including living room, dining room, living area and kitchen. We would like to repurpose space to add a bar area and seating.

Not used, old and needs to be functional with character. Would like it to be a "draw" for visitors.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?

We want to keep the sofas in living area (next to the kitchen) and the living room (next to the dining room). But are open to options for the sofas in the living room. The current area which is under-utilized and the main focal point of the project we would like to flip the dining and living room, converting the dining room into a bar/entertaining area and shift the living room to the main dining room with a large farm table. All artwork has history from throughout the world and we'd want to keep these as well. Could be redistributed.

So, there are actually two rooms, the 25X13 area including the current under used dining/living room area we want to flip and in the dining room area want to build a bar on the right wall facing the arched internal windows, and then convert the living room to a dining room with a large rustic farm table design. the current living area is adjacent to the kitchen.

Combined Living/Dining:

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
