For your main wall color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish

The appliances were purchased in the last year, so I need to keep the black refrigerator, dishwasher, wall oven/microwave combo. The oven/microwave combo pictured is not the actual one that will be installed. I ordered a new one with the same dimensions(43" high x 27" wide) which has been delivered, but isn't installed. I haven't purchased a new cooktop, but I need one.

I would like the new kitchen to be more contemporary than my current kitchen, but not modern to the point where it doesn't blend with the rest of my house. I like the look of marble and quartz with the dramatic veining. My daughter who lives next door just renovated her kitchen using all white oak cabinets. While I am not opposed to including white oak, I don't want her to feel as if I stole her look, so I am thinking maybe a darker wood.
