Project Title:
Contemporary Student Space Transformation
Project Description:
—I’m on a student budget and try to be environmentally conscious and don’t love wasting/throwing away perfectly good pieces of furniture and so would love to keep as much of my original furniture as possible. I am very open to suggestions on replacements/upgrades as well obviously, but if you guys can find ways to creatively reuse or move around my existing furniture instead, that would be awesome—particularly larger pieces. I would be happy to dress up my existing pieces with new cushions or linens and things.
—I have a bunch of art that I have been collecting over time that I haven’t gotten around to actually putting up, so any advice or help on that would be lovely as well. (Am happy to send photos for reference) Also looking for suggestions on frames that would make my art look good, since of them are currently unframed. Since my apartment is a rental, I am not allowed to use any screws on my walls so would have to use command hooks and whatnot.
—I am on the fence about having a couch in my room since I don’t have that much space and like being able to walk around and have extra open space. I also recently bought a teepee (kind of an impulse buy but loving it so far) as a kind of reading nook space that takes the place of a proper couch) which has served the purpose well. Of course I am open to suggestions if you guys find a great piece but if you guys can come up with a cool concept without a couch that would be great as well. Would also really appreciate any advice on how to jazz up my reading nook space.
—I am a law student and have a ton of books, and am looking to buy another bookcase so would appreciate any advice on that as well.
—I currently use the blank wall next to my bed as a space to project movies with my projector, so would appreciate if you guys could keep that blank, or alternatively, help me come up with a different place to project my movies if you feel that it would be good to use that wall for decorating.
