Contemporary Multi Room Design with Pops of Color

Project Description:

Looking to change wall, trim, ceiling paint color and furnish and decorate area. I can not change the flooring or the fireplace (but could paint fireplace trim, if that would make sense). I don't think the yellowish color looks very modern but open to recommendations on paint color.

House will function as short term rental

Should be modern and appeal to many people

Needs plenty of seating.

I want to replace ceiling lights and fans.

Although the kitchen is not part of the scope of the project, the paint color scheme will be used throughout the whole house and will need to go with/match the existing cabinets and countertops as I can not change these.

I only want to buy items in stock, as it will be rented out on July 1st and need them sent right away.

The furniture is all from prior owners and will be gone.

We think color scheme looks a but outdated but we are open to any color scheme as long as it looks clean, modern, and friendly for a lake house rental. Color scheme needs to work with the kitchen cabinets/countertop and current floor as it will be used throughout the house.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:

The flooring and fireplace and TV has to stay. Everything else, includes the ceiling fan can be changed. We do have a rug which we might be able to use, it is pictured below. Although we are open to trying a new rug and not using this rug. We want durable furniture (its a rental) and avoid anything too bright white (as it is going to easily get dirty from renters).

Since your room gets plenty of sunlight your color options are quite broad.

For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
