Great Room Additional comments to designers
Clean but very cozy and super comfortable. I love big, leather couches and big comfy chairs but my husband is saying he wants two recliners. If I can 2 find comfortable and attractive recliners to fit the room, or even one, it would be a plus. Also, leather isn’t a necessity on the couches as I love the look of the soft style Joybird sectionals. Mismatched furniture is always fun so I am open. I’d love to have a more contemporary fireplace. Longer and lower? A hearth or seating below is a plus. I would like to keep the television as low as possible and not at a neck breaking height. I would like to see the built-ins on the side of the fireplace in a color maybe. A fun light fixture above the shelving? Floor plan

My dream closet! I’m having trouble with my vision on this but I know what I’d like in it. An island down the middle if at all possible. Drawers for sunglasses, belts accessories… tons of room for a large shoe collection. Spaces above cabinets for a large purse collection. Some kind of fun animal print carpet for flooring. Not entirely sure where I want to go with colors in here but I know I’d like a pop of color with the tile in the shower. Double shower heads, both on the exterior wall. Freestanding air tub, I’ve looked at a few options on Houzz. The sauna will be custom built into that space. Looking into a company called Finnleo. I’d like to either have a mirrored medicine cabinet above each vanity or maybe a slim cabinet next to each sink for skincare, lotions..etc. Also a drawer with outlets to hold hair tools, trimmers…. I know it’s labeled “Den” but it will be an office. Lots of dark colors, cabinets and bookcases. More of a “man cave” feel, very masculine. A built-in fish tank\aquarium and a built in 50 gallon tank for our snake as well. I was looking at black metal and opaque glass for the sliding doors. Maybe custom or from Rustica? Also, just rugs, no carpet. Floor plan

Kitchen/Nook Additional comments to designers
KitchenI’d like to include a few different textures and colors in the kitchen while keeping an organic, natural and timeless feel to it. I want it to be very inviting and cozy as my family spends a lot of time here and loves to entertain. I consider it the “heart of the house”. I have been thinking of either rustic wood beams, shiplap or tongue and groove on the ceiling. Shoji White is a favorite paint color of mine. I’d like to keep the one window as open feeling and big as possible but possibly be able to open the sides for fresh air so maybe one big frame and two small ones on the side. I’m hoping to have all the windows in the house have matching black frames. I’m loving the Zellij tiles for a backsplash behind the stove in a white or lighter color possibly but am open to others. As far as countertops go, I’d like to have black and white. Black on islands and white on perimeter countertops or the other way around. I’ve used soapstone in my last remodel and love it but it is a little “soft” and I find it scratches easily. I did choose a honed finish so maybe it can be toughened up in another option? Or maybe the leathered granite? I like the look of white marble but don’t know much about any other options. I know I like things sturdy and easy to care for though. Cabinet wise I was thinking bright and clean but maybe a pop of color on islands. Shoji white, as I mentioned earlier, is an option. Greens, dark gray..etc or even flipped and color on other cabinets… I like a contemporary shaker style, flat panels with black hardware but maybe some brass? I’ve always had stainless steel appliances but had been looking into the cafe line appliances in all their pretty colors. I have loved my Wolf stove but am willing to branch out as long as we keep it higher end. In the plans it shows a 36” refrigerator/freezer combo but I think we want to do something bigger, more industrial size so if it takes up most of that space it's fine. I’ll also want sub zero fridge drawers in the prep island. Possibly a microwave drawer as well? A coffee bar with a plumbed in coffee machine all the way to the right of the kitchen sink. The seating island shows 3 seats but I’d like to add seats in either end as well and maybe a small overhang on the opposite side of the sink on the prep island for a couple of stools to be stashed. Just wanting a lot of room for “hanging out” while cooking etc…
Nook
I’m not quite sure what to do here but in my head I always go back to a bigger round table with seating for at least 6. Possibly like a breakfast table? I’m very open to other options as well though.

I had darker cabinets in mind with this room. Some kind of fun flooring like a herringbone pattern or maybe terracotta tile…but something that doesn’t show a lot of dirt or mud. Walking in from the garage, to your left is a little area with a built-in bench, maybe lockers, somewhere for coats, shoes and backpacks. Floor plan

Game RoomAnother “Masculine feel” room. A pool table, big comfy couch, large television, round table with comfy seating are all necessities. I really wanted a Murphy bed in this room but I don’t know if it’s possible unless I lose the window at the far end of the long part of the room, which I’m open to. The area labeled “storage” I would like to turn into a closet. I’m concerned about the carpet being up there but I’m open to it as long as I can find something extremely durable. I’m still leaning towards wood though.

Bedroom:
Using this rich warm color will contrast nicely with the dark, rich wallcovering.
For your main color, we chose to use warm, off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
Use an eggshell or satin finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
