Project Title:
Airy Kitchen Design
Project Description:
I have several rooms (4+) that I'd like done but would like to start with one to see how you do!
It's a combined LARGE living room and dining room. I am also doing my kitchen, living room, powder room. Bathrooms will be stage 2. So ultimately, this needs to be all cohesive.

Items you want to keep:
Room Label:
My Kitchen
I want this room to feel more masculine/feminine/neutral:
Neutral
What type of sunlight does this room receive?:
Mid-day light
What do you currently dislike about the room?:
We want to add approximately 24" cabinets above our existing cabinets. We would like them to have glass inserts in the doors with lights inside of the cabinets. These are 12 foot ceilings.
We also plan on having the cabinet boxes lacquered/refinished. We will go with new door fronts. Shaker style cabinets. And we will need new hardware.
I do like the black cabinet for my fireplace room and people have encouraged me to go that dark with my kitchen cabinets but I am not so sure I am going do that. Perhaps the island?
I would like to go with a white quartz counter top that extends up the wall to make a seamless backsplash.
The cabinets to the right (behind the small wall) with the cross on it, is where the walk in pantry door will go.

What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?:
My dining room square table and my round breakfast nook table I will likely keep. I will have it refinished so I would like suggestions on what color to refinish those pieces too. They are solid wood tables and chairs.
Are you open to changing your wall colors?:
Yes
Do you have a preference for either paint or wall covering, or are you open to both?:
Paint
Are you open to changing your floor covering?:
No

Additional comments to designers:
I do not like the green cabinets. I am just giving you an idea of the box on top of the cabinet that I like.
We are torn on what type of crown Moulding to put on top of the cabinets. Flat (as you can see in the above picture) or more of an elaborate one, we are unsure?
I can not have glass in my existing upper cabinets as they will remain white inside. The insides are not refinished from my understanding. I do want glass in the new upper ones with a light however.
I do not like shiny gold / brass.
I do like a subtle rose/gold matte brass or a satin Nickle for pulls etc.
We will be keeping our current appliances.
I am not sure if pendant lights are necessary over our current island?
I want to remove the ceiling fan over the breakfast nook table and replace it with a matching chandelier to my dining room/front door.
As a reminder, I like lighting that consists of wood/metal/crystals. I'd like lighting to be big and beautiful.
I do like wall scones/lights where you see fit.
