Did interior design always interest you?

Design was always present. I grew up surrounded by architecture and interior design, but my professional foundation began in visual merchandising for global brands. That experience shaped how I think about space today. It trained me to consider composition, circulation, visual hierarchy, and emotional impact. Interior design, for me, is an extension of that discipline, just applied to a more permanent and intimate scale.

How would you define your design style?

Contemporary minimalism, with a strong architectural backbone. My work leans toward clean lines, controlled palettes, and material integrity. I often explore monochromatic schemes, contrast, and the sculptural quality of furniture and built elements. There are subtle references to modernism and neoclassicism, but always stripped back. Nothing excessive, nothing decorative without purpose.

Who or what influences your work?

I observe more than I follow. I’m constantly immersed in visual culture, from emerging designers to established figures like Kelly Wearstler. But influence, for me, is never direct. Having lived across multiple countries and worked internationally, my perspective is shaped as much by architecture, cities, and cultural context as it is by design itself. Each place sharpens a different sensitivity. Influence is always filtered. It’s not about replication, it’s about refinement into a language that is precise, controlled, and entirely my own.

What’s a must-have in your interiors?

There isn’t one. The project is not about imposing a signature. It’s about interpreting the client’s vision with precision. My role is to structure their preferences, refine their instincts, and guide decisions so the outcome feels cohesive, resolved, and aligned with how they actually live.

What design trends are you interested in right now?

I don’t design around trends. My work is based on a defined visual language, not on what’s current. I stay aware of shifts in the industry, but only to understand context, not to follow it. The priority is always vision, consistency, and longevity.

If you had to pick a favorite room in your home, which would it be and why?

I’m a nomad. I move frequently, so I don’t attach to spaces in a traditional way. What I value instead is the ability to continuously reset. That perspective feeds directly into my work, allowing me to approach each project with fresh eyes and no emotional bias. In a way, the spaces I design for clients become the closest thing to “home.”

What are your go-to design resources?

I work visually. Platforms like Pinterest and Instagram are part of the daily process. For direction and forecasting, I reference: WGSN, Trend Bible, Salone del Mobile. And editorially, Architectural Digest and Independent artists remain consistent references.

What is the best thing about being an interior designer?

Two things. First, the impact on the client. When a space genuinely improves how someone lives, that’s where the work becomes meaningful. Second, the ability to use my creativity in a very precise way, and to express a clear design vision. When everything aligns, proportion, material, composition, it’s extremely satisfying.

What was your first big project and what was your favorite part?

A 1,000 sqm showroom in High Point, while I was Creative Director of a furniture company. It was a full-scale execution under pressure, from final construction detailing to installation and styling, within a very compressed timeline. That experience built discipline. It forced precision, speed, and decision-making at a high level. Seeing the space fully realized, on time, was the defining moment.

How do you manage challenges that come up during a design project?

Through interaction, asking questions and listening. Every challenge is resolved by developing multiple solutions, then refining them with the client until the direction is both functional and visually coherent. The objective is always the best outcome, for every challenge there is a solution.

Why do you like online interior design?

I think virtual interior design is a genius solution! Because it’s structurally better. It removes inefficiencies, increases speed, and gives clients access to high-level design without unnecessary layers. It’s a more intelligent system. It also aligns with how I work, allowing me to operate globally, manage multiple projects, and maintain a high level of output without compromising quality.

Lastly, the team at Decorilla is incredible! Kind, knowledgeable, structured, and fair! I feel fortunate to be part of this team.
