Colorful Eclectic Living Room & Bedroom Inspiration
To get started, the clients compiled an inspirational gallery of rooms that fit their tastes. It showcased a plethora of beautiful examples of skillfully using color and texture to create an inviting and unique space. Each image displayed bright and cheerful living room and bedroom designs featuring bold walls and kaleidoscopic accents. In the end, it was clear the client’s desired a bold, dramatic, and colorful interior.
Colorful Eclectic Living Room Ideas & Moodboard
Unlike other design firms, Decorilla’s interior design process started by matching the clients with not one, but two suitable interior designers that would submit concepts for the project. Each boasted a proven record of excellent mix-&-match skills and a masterful eye for color.
Each designer presented their ideas that fit the clients’ vision. This certainly made the final decision slightly more challenging for the clients. However, after thoroughly reviewing both moodboards, the clients chose to proceed with Casey H. And the decision quickly proved to be the right one.
Casey’s proposal exhibited colorful interior design with eclectic touches. Based on the clients’ inspirational photos, she went ultra bold with a rich, moody color palette. Everything revolved around deeply saturated and brilliant deep teal, mustard yellow, sage green, and punchy orange colors. This over the top color palette was everything the clients wished for in their new cheerful interior.
Eclectic Green Living Room Design Results
The colorful eclectic living room was as unique as it was vibrant. First, Casey chose to bathe the walls, doors, and even some trim in green. This technique skillfully helped the room feel larger that it is. Meanwhile, a mustard wallpaper with dragonfly print paired well with the walls. And then, Casey pushed the envelope further with a sky blue ceiling. The idea was to leave the clients an opportunity to add an actual sky motif that would catapult the whimsy factor.
Since so many colors were already in play, the curvy sofa and vintage-inspired accent chair were kept to white. In addition, an existing acrylic coffee and side table allowed for the colorful area rug to shine through. However, that wasn’t the end to Casey’s brilliant use of color. In stark contrast to the walls, deep teal curtains added another hue to the space. Meanwhile, scatter pillows in a variety of funky patterns helped to tie the scheme together.
The dining part of the colorful, eclectic living room featured a family heirloom Danish table the clients wanted to keep. A counter height ledge was also added in front of a window for additional dining space with a view. Each table was accented with its own unique light fixture while being anchored together by a sizable aztec-print rug. Lastly, one wall was covered in mirrors to trick the viewer into thinking the space is larger than it is.
Colorful Eclectic Bedroom Interior Design
An equally colorful and eclectic bedroom design smartly complemented the living area. The clients’ existing IKEA Malme bed and two wall-mounted modern reading lamps formed the foundation of the room. Once again, painting the walls and adding colorful accents did the magic, making the room feel inviting and open. Here a dramatic teal stole the show for the wall color with a coordinating wallpapered accent wall behind the headboard. For added color, mustard-yellow curtains and a multi-colored rug completed the palette.
The tight, cold space quickly turned warm and homey, while the vivid accessories yielded a genuinely cheerful vibe. A new dresser and a mix of nightstands enhanced the storage options, grounding the colorful eclectic bedroom setup. A small vanity and blush daisy chair also sat discreetly in the corner. Finally, a large world map featured above the bed which completed the look.
