They needed a modern solution in line with the spirit of a very special place situated in the Lake Superior area. Built in the ’80s, a Finnish-style log cabin featured all the highlights of the era, also immersed in the rich history of Native American and European settlements. Modern Log Home Interiors Inspiration
Due to the diverse taste, the client found it quite challenging to pick only one style in the Decorilla design questionnaire. Although the final choice went to coastal, it was apparent that eclectic flair in the cabin was more than desirable. Their inspiration image gallery was filled with vivid global details, such as Native American textiles, woven rattan, and Moroccan accents.
Modern Log Cabin Decor Ideas & Moodboard
Following the brief and initial consultation, the Decorilla team proposed two qualified designers. Both of them provided some spot-on ideas, leading to another tricky choice for the client: whom to continue with. Finally, the scale leaned toward the native-America-inspired composition provided by Drew F.
Drew’s vision was rooted in soft, neutral tones with loads of texture to enhance the tactile dimension of the cabin atmosphere. Modern log cabin decor pieces he sourced brought freshness to the space, feeling unique with a lot of distinctive character.
Modern Log Cabin Interior Design Results
The white scheme of the modern log cabin interior design juxtaposed its robust architectural character creating a more relaxed style. The soft and clean, toned-down look resulted in the brightness and airiness the client desired while also looking chic and up-to-date.
A spacious, comfortable, bright L-sofa dominated the main seating area, paired with rustic armchairs. On the other side of the room, a couple of poufs added some boho vibe accents. The heritage-themed focal point was provided by the oversized wall art depicting a Native American headdress. At the same time, the wooden texture of a drum coffee table strongly highlighted the room’s organic character.
Modern Log Cabin Bedrooms
The organic flair flowing all over the modern log home interior got another dimension in the woods-themed bedroom. Here the designer employed deep green accents in the forms of plushy cushions and lamp bases. Together with the wall art depicting stylized wood branches, it translated the outside in, in a noticeable yet refined fashion.
The coastal vibe was also quite noticeable in the modern log cabin bedrooms, above all in the woven bed frames. Their simple lines paired beautifully with the rug pattern, which continued the ethnic theme across this part of the house.
A small bedroom sitting area featured a couple of iron-framed armchairs upholstered in white performance fabric. In addition, the set of nesting tables with prominent wood texture ensured space-savvy comfort. Once again, the modern cabin decor gave a natural feel to the room, with a plant basket dressed in a macrame hanger.

The loft bedroom was filled with textured, lightly patterned cushions and a matching rug, adding softness to the space. The woven story had its own chapter in the bed bench and lampshades, while the streamlined iron frame of the armchair took care of taking the overall weight off the floor.
The star of the loft bedroom, however, was an arched dresser on the right side of the bed. Its shape and bright neutral hue softened the strong geometry of the room, making the overall cabin atmosphere friendlier and more inviting.
Powerful contrasts in the window framing increased the visual appeal. Together with the prominent distinction between the white trim and log cabin walls, the space was given a more modern look without taking away from the cabin’s stunning architecture.

The white-neutral-organic scheme kept its flow in the modern log cabin kitchen design. The original kitchen island was replaced in favor of a more spacious dining table arrangement, elevating the comfort in the limited floor area.
