Rachel received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) with a concentration in Residential Interior Architecture. Rachel lived and worked in Miami, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Her travels and experiences in different cities have helped shape her ability to connect to the different needs and styles of clients. She strongly believes there is no place more important than your home; so it should be a beautiful and functional representation of your life.
What drives you to design?
Design has always been a part of who I am. I’m constantly wanting to re-do things and make them better. Design is the opportunity to take an idea and make it tangible. There are a thousand ways to go about doing anything, as a designer I get to explore them all and see which works the bet. As an interior designer, I have the opportunity to bring my clients visions to life, while still learning and exploring.
We know you love designing, but what about it do you love most?
What I love the most about designing is the constant ability to do something new. A good designer never does the same thing twice. There’s always a challenge, always something to learn. Each client is looking for something different from the next; so the opportunity to dive into a theme or style, is not only challenging and exciting- it’s fun.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
My inspiration really does come from the client. Interior Design, in its purest form is functional instillation art. When working with a client on their home, getting to know their personalities, likes dislikes, etc is really important. It’s through this conversation that I acquire the information I need to help me capture the client in their space.
